Homeschool Survival Skills Class

Hike

Our Homeschool Survival Skills Class gives students the opportunity to learn and apply real-world survival skills in an engaging, hands-on setting. Students dive into practical skills such as fire building and safety, shelter construction, navigation with map and compass, tool care and use, water procurement and purification, improvising, wilderness first aid and more. Lessons are taught outdoors whenever possible, giving students direct experience in working with nature in nature

This class is designed to build confidence, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Students are challenged to think critically, collaborate with peers, and step into leadership roles in safe but exciting scenarios. These experiences foster resilience, independence, and creativity—qualities that benefit them far beyond the outdoors.

While most sessions are held on-site at Prestige Homeschool Academy in Niceville, we also incorporate the occasional field trip to nearby parks, trails, and natural spaces. These outings give students the chance to apply what they’ve learned in a new environment and see firsthand how survival skills transfer to the real world.

Classes meet weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 2:00 – 3:30 PM and are limited to 10 students to ensure personalized instruction and active participation from everyone. Cost is $200/month and we have been approved for Florida Step-Up reimbursement.
